Prima Nexus organised a comprehensive ELISA demonstration and data analysis workshop at the Institute of Medical Molecular Biotechnology (IMMB), UiTM Sungai Buloh, in May 2024. Between June and October it ran three online webinars on real-time PCR, and one on clinical trials.

SUNGAI BULOH, SELANGOR, 10 October 2024: On 21 May 2024, Prima Nexus organised a comprehensive ELISA demonstration and data analysis workshop at the Institute of Medical Molecular Biotechnology (IMMB), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Sungai Buloh. Later in the year it ran three online webinars on real-time PCR, on 20 June, 23 July and 10 October, and an online webinar on clinical trials on 27 August.
ELISA at the bench at IMMB
ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is a laboratory test that uses antibodies to measure a specific protein, hormone or antibody in a sample. The workshop covered an ELISA demonstration, data analysis and troubleshooting, with En. Yusri of UiTM as facilitator. Participants worked at the laboratory benches in small groups, and the trainer took them through the steps on the whiteboard. Certificates were issued to 16 participants. The photos show participants in gloves at the long benches, and the whole group with the Prima Nexus team at the end of the day.
Real-time PCR in three parts
Real-time PCR copies a chosen stretch of DNA over and over and measures it as the reaction runs, so researchers can tell how much of a particular gene is in a sample. The series began with a real-time PCR (RT-PCR) webinar on 20 June. The second, RT-PCR Webinar 2.0 on 23 July, covered the MIQE guidelines, a checklist of the details a real-time PCR study should report so that others can judge and repeat it. The third, the RT-PCR 3.0 webinar, followed on 10 October.
Clinical trials, and Prima Nexus's part
On 27 August, Prima Nexus ran an online webinar on clinical trials, the studies that test new treatments in people. Prima Nexus organised the IMMB workshop with the institute, and ran the webinars online. More photos from Sungai Buloh are on the event page.
