Prima Nexus supported LASAM in its 30th anniversary year, at LIC 2024 and the LASAM Scientific Seminar 2024
The Laboratory Animal Science Association of Malaysia (LASAM) marked its 30th anniversary in 2024 with its first international conference, LIC 2024, in Kuala Lumpur in May, and a scientific seminar and anniversary celebration in Bangi in September. Prima Nexus supported both events.

BANGI, SELANGOR, 24 September 2024: The Laboratory Animal Science Association of Malaysia (LASAM) held its first international conference, LIC 2024, at the Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, on 8 and 9 May 2024, in the year of its 30th anniversary. On 24 September, the association held the LASAM Scientific Seminar 2024 and a celebration of its 30th anniversary at the Bangi Avenue Convention Centre, Bangi. Prima Nexus supported both events.
Animal welfare and the role of researchers
LIC 2024 brought laboratory animal scientists, veterinarians and researchers together on the theme of safeguarding animal welfare in Malaysia and the role of researchers, and participants joined both in the hall and online. The keynote was given by Dr Rohana Abu Bakar of the Veterinary Research Division, Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia. The speakers included Professor Dr Goh Yong Meng of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Dr Faisalina Ahmad Fisol of the Malaysian Institute of Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals (IPharm), Assoc Prof Dr Chong Ju Lian of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Dr Natasha Karp of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, Dr Vanessa Gris of Cesumar University Center in Brazil, and Assoc Prof Dr Huda Shalahudin Darusman of Bogor Agricultural University in Indonesia.
A seminar and a celebration in Bangi
Laboratory animal science covers the care and welfare of the animals used in research, and LASAM brings the people who work in it together. On 24 September 2024, the association held the LASAM Scientific Seminar 2024 together with the celebration of its 30th anniversary, at the Bangi Avenue Convention Centre in Bangi, Selangor. Prima Nexus supported the seminar and the celebration, as it had supported the conference in May.

Prima Nexus had also sponsored LASAM's 20th annual general meeting in 2015 and supported its 24th in 2019.
