Prima Nexus sponsored three health sciences and pharmacy meetings at UKM and UiTM in August and September 2015

From the Prima Nexus archive: a look back at August and September 2015.

KUALA LUMPUR, 2 September 2015: In August 2015, Prima Nexus sponsored two symposia held by faculties of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in the same week: the International Symposium of Health Sciences (i-SIHAT 2015) on 11 and 12 August at the Mines Wellness Hotel, Seri Kembangan, and the Controlled Release & Drug Delivery Symposium 2015 (CRDDS2015) on 15 and 16 August at the UKM Kuala Lumpur Campus. On 2 and 3 September, it sponsored the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists Workshop 2015, held by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam.

All For Health at i-SIHAT 2015

UKM's Faculty of Health Sciences organised i-SIHAT 2015 under the theme "All For Health". Researchers and clinicians from universities, hospitals and the Ministry of Health Malaysia met for talks, forums, oral papers and posters. Professor Gary D. Rogers gave the opening keynote on interprofessional learning and collaborative care, and later talks covered health in urban society, mental health, emerging infectious diseases, palliative care, healthy eating and frailty in older people. Four forums discussed children with special needs, wellness, care of older people and multidisciplinary research, and the symposium closed with an award presentation.

Targeted drug delivery at CRDDS2015

UKM's Faculty of Pharmacy hosted CRDDS2015 on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August in Lecture Hall 2 (DK2) on its Kuala Lumpur Campus, in conjunction with the 1st MyCRS Scientific Conference. MyCRS is the Malaysia Local Chapter of the Controlled Release Society. The theme was "Targeted Delivery: Translating Ideas Into New Technology". Participants attended as delegates or presented their own work as talks or posters, and photos from the symposium show a poster session and an exhibition area.

A workshop at UiTM, and Prima Nexus's part

UiTM Puncak Alam held the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists Workshop 2015 on 2 and 3 September. Prima Nexus was a sponsor of all three events, and was named in the acknowledgements of the CRDDS2015 symposium booklet. At i-SIHAT it also supported the post-conference symposium on ageing. In 2016 it went on to sponsor pharmacy events at UKM, MAHSA University and IMU. More photos are on the event pages for CRDDS2015 and i-SIHAT 2015. Drug delivery teams that need to test a new formulation in rats or mice can work with Prima Nexus on in vivo animal studies.
