Prima Nexus worked with Universiti Malaya's Faculty of Dentistry in 2018, from RT-PCR workshops to ICOIOM 2018
Prima Nexus organised or co-organised four RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry workshops at Universiti Malaya in 2018, most of them at the Faculty of Dentistry, and sponsored two of the faculty's meetings.

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 August 2018: Prima Nexus worked with the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya (UM), across 2018. It co-organised an RT-PCR demonstration workshop at the faculty's Craniofacial and Molecular Biology Research Laboratory on 14 March and an immunohistochemistry (IHC) workshop on 28 March, organised a two-day RT-PCR hands-on workshop on 11 and 12 April, and co-organised a second IHC workshop at UM on 14 May. It then sponsored the faculty's 11th Postgraduate Seminar on 25 and 26 July and the International Conference on Oral Immunology and Oral Microbiology (ICOIOM 2018) on 14 and 15 August.
Real-time PCR at the bench
Both RT-PCR sessions ran in the faculty's Craniofacial and Molecular Biology Research Laboratory. Prima Nexus co-organised a demonstration workshop there on 14 March, and on 11 and 12 April it organised a two-day hands-on workshop in the laboratory on Level 7. Participants from universities, SIRIM and industry worked through the real-time PCR workflow at the bench, from setting up the reactions to analysing the data. The photos show participants in lab coats at the benches, reading the protocol and pipetting while others watched.
Two immunohistochemistry workshops
Immunohistochemistry uses antibodies to show where a protein is found in a thin section of tissue. On 28 March, Prima Nexus co-organised the Immunohistochemistry Hands on Workshop, the March session of the Prima Nexus Workshop Series 2018, in a tutorial room and a laboratory on Level 8 of the Faculty of Dentistry. A second session, IHC Hands on Workshop 2.0, followed at UM on 14 May, again co-organised by Prima Nexus.
Two faculty meetings, and Prima Nexus's part
Prima Nexus also sponsored two of the faculty's meetings at Balai Ungku Aziz: the 11th Postgraduate Seminar 2018 on 25 and 26 July, and ICOIOM 2018 on 14 and 15 August. It had sponsored the faculty's 1st International Conference on Innovative Dentistry in 2015.
