BANDAR SAUJANA PUTRA, 15 December 2018: Prima Nexus sponsored four events on medicines and their use in 2018: a seminar on HIV treatment as prevention at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) on 7 February; an antimicrobial stewardship workshop for general practitioners at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on 5 September; World Pharmacists Day 2018 at UCSI University on 25 September; and a seminar on the rational use of antibiotics at MAHSA University on 15 December.
Pharmacists: Your Medicines Experts
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, UCSI University, held World Pharmacists Day 2018 in the Grand Ballroom, Block E, of its Kuala Lumpur campus on Tuesday 25 September. The event screen listed four guests of honour: Datin Dr. Faridah Aryani Bt. Md. Yusof, Deputy Director, Pharmacy Practice and Development, Pharmaceutical Services Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia; Dato' Peter Ng, Founder and Group CEO, UCSI University; Mr John C.P. Chang, President, Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia; and Mr Tan Eng Joo, Andrew, Deputy President, the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society. Students, staff and guests gathered on the stage for the group photo, and students in white coats performed for the guests.
HIV treatment and the use of antibiotics
On 7 February, the Department of Pharmacy Practice, UiTM, held a seminar titled HIV Treatment as Prevention: The Key to an AIDS-Free Generation, at UiTM's Sungai Buloh campus. On 5 September, the Department of Pharmacology, UKM, held an Antimicrobial Stewardship Workshop for GPs in the seminar room of the Department of Medical Education, on Level 6 of the Preclinical Building at UKM Medical Centre. Antimicrobial stewardship is the careful use of antibiotics, so that they keep working. The year closed on 15 December with Rational Use of Antibiotics in Current Clinical Practice, in the Dental Auditorium at MAHSA University's Saujana Putra campus.

Prima Nexus sponsored all four events, and the World Pharmacists Day screen named Prima Nexus among the supporters of the day.
