From Shah Alam to Penang: Prima Nexus sponsored molecular medicine and biochemistry meetings in 2018

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 November 2018: Prima Nexus sponsored a run of meetings on molecular medicine and biochemistry in 2018: a statistics workshop at the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI) in February, ICMMNH 2018 in Shah Alam in April, ICADD 2018 in Kuala Lumpur in July, ICBMBB2018 in Puchong in August, the 8th Regional Conference on Molecular Medicine in Kuala Lumpur and MDBD 2018 in Penang in September, and an RNA-seq data analysis workshop at UMBI from 12 to 14 November.

Molecular medicine in nutrition, health and disease

The Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine discipline of the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), organised ICMMNH 2018 at Concorde Hotel, Shah Alam, on 16 and 17 April, on the theme Embracing Frontiers of Molecular Medicine in Nutrition, Health and Disease. It covered molecular nutrition, nutrigenomics, the gut microbiome, functional food and omics in nutrition-related disease. The speakers included Prof Dr Nora O'Brien of University College Cork, Ireland, and Assoc Prof Dr Joanne Bowen of the University of Adelaide, with speakers from UKM, Universiti Malaya and Taylor's University. Prima Nexus sponsored the conference and set up a photo wall, where delegates posed for pictures.

Four more conferences, from Kuala Lumpur to Penang

UKM held ICADD 2018 at Pullman KLCC Hotel & Residences, Kuala Lumpur, on 18 and 19 July. The Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB) and MSMBB held the International Conference on Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology 2018 (ICBMBB2018) at Four Points by Sheraton Puchong on 15 and 16 August. UMBI held the 8th Regional Conference on Molecular Medicine (RCMM) in conjunction with the 4th National Conference for Cancer Research (NCCR) on 19 and 20 September. The Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM), Universiti Sains Malaysia, held MDBD 2018 at Equatorial Hotel, Bayan Lepas, Penang, on 24 and 25 September.

Two data workshops at UMBI, and Prima Nexus's part

UMBI also ran two data workshops that Prima Nexus sponsored: a Hands-On Intermediate Statistical Analysis Workshop in its Bioinformatics Lab from 5 to 7 February, and an RNA-seq NGS Data Analysis Workshop from 12 to 14 November.
