From the Prima Nexus archive: a look back at August 2016.

PUTRAJAYA, 15 August 2016: Prima Nexus was a sponsor of the 30th Scientific Meeting of the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology (MSPP), held on 15 and 16 August 2016 at the Putrajaya Shangri-La Hotel. MSPP organised the meeting with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), on the theme Health Sciences: Frontiers in Translational Medicine. Prima Nexus also sponsored the conference registration of two postgraduate students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

The society's 30th meeting

The Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology held its 30th Scientific Meeting over two days, organised with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM. Researchers and postgraduate students from Malaysian universities presented new work in pharmacology and physiology, in oral presentations in the meeting rooms and in a poster session. A year earlier, Prima Nexus had also sponsored the 29th MSPP Scientific Meeting in Shah Alam.

Natural products, rat studies and awards

The presentations included studies in rats of natural products such as propolis, royal jelly, Centella asiatica and tocotrienol, on diabetes, reproduction and memory. One oral presentation dealt with propolis, a honeybee product, and diabetes in a rat model. Awards were presented on stage, and the winners stood with their trophies and certificates in front of the meeting screen.

Prima Nexus as a sponsor

Prima Nexus supported the meeting as a sponsor, and it sponsored the conference registration of two postgraduate students from the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM. Several of the studies presented used rat models, and Prima Nexus now offers researchers in vivo studies in rats and mice, covering animal models, dosing, sampling and safety testing.
