Prima Nexus seminars on multiplex, protein and gene detection at TAR UC, PPUKM and IMR in 2017
Between July and October 2017, Prima Nexus co-organised a seminar on multiplex biomarker detection at TAR UC and a biosafety cabinet talk at PPUKM, and was invited by the Institute for Medical Research to run a seminar on proteomic and genomic methods.

KUALA LUMPUR, 4 October 2017: On 4 October 2017, the Virology Department of the Institute for Medical Research (IMR) in Kuala Lumpur invited Prima Nexus to run a seminar, Introduction to Basic and Higher Proteomic and Genomic Approach in Biomedical Research. Earlier, Prima Nexus had co-organised The Power of Multiplex Solutions, a morning seminar at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) in Kuala Lumpur, on 4 July, and a Biosafety Cabinet Talk with the Department of Physiology at UKM Medical Centre (PPUKM) on 19 September.
The Power of Multiplex Solutions at TAR UC
The TAR UC seminar ran from 10 am to noon on Tuesday 4 July in room D204-2, Block D, on the college's Kuala Lumpur campus, and seats were given on a first come, first served basis. The opening talk compared Western blot and ELISA, two common methods for detecting proteins. He then moved on to bead-based technology, introducing direct, multiplexed and digital detection of DNA, RNA and protein biomarkers with bead-based and branched-DNA technology. Multiplexed means that several markers are measured together in one run, instead of one test for each marker. The morning closed with a question and answer session.
A biosafety cabinet talk at PPUKM and a seminar at IMR
On 19 September, Prima Nexus and the Department of Physiology at PPUKM co-organised a Biosafety Cabinet Talk in the Physiology Seminar Room on Level 18 of PPUKM in Cheras. At the IMR on 4 October, the seminar in the Virology Department's seminar room covered Western blot and ELISA for detecting proteins, PCR, RT-PCR and gene sequencing, and multiplex solutions for detecting several proteins or genes in one sample.

Prima Nexus provided the speaker for both talks at TAR UC and shared the organising work with the college, co-organised the PPUKM talk, and was invited to run the IMR seminar.
