Prima Nexus Leads Hands-On AI Animal Behaviour Session at MSN 2026 Pre-Congress Workshop
At Universiti Putra Malaysia, researchers learned how AI-assisted tracking turns animal behaviour into quantitative data, as part of the 34th Malaysian Society of Neurosciences Annual Scientific Meeting.

SERDANG, SELANGOR, 11 September 2026: Prima Nexus Sdn Bhd was a supporting partner of the BNC Pre-Congress Workshop “AI in Neuroscience with Integrity”, held on 19 August 2026 at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in conjunction with the 34th Malaysian Society of Neurosciences (MSN) Annual Scientific Meeting 2026. Prima Nexus was a technical support partner for the workshop's hands-on session on AI-assisted animal behaviour analysis.
AI in neuroscience, with integrity
Organised by the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences, the one-day workshop explored the role of artificial intelligence in neuroscience, from its applications in research to the importance of responsible and ethical use. The programme opened with a session on AI in neuroscience by Assoc. Prof. Dr Tomoko Soga of Monash University Malaysia and closed with a session on integrity and responsible AI by Dr Manraj Singh Cheema of UPM.
The workshop formed part of the 34th MSN Annual Scientific Meeting, held in conjunction with the 8th Malaysia Stroke Conference 2026 and the 8th BRaINs BNC Research and Innovations meeting.

In the hands-on session, Prima Nexus Animal Research Portfolio Lead Ms. Siti Nor Hikmah Abdul Rasid and Michael Zhang of Chengdu Techman Co., Ltd. guided participants through an animal behavioural research platform and its software. The session showed how animal behaviour can be captured, tracked, analysed and translated into quantitative research data, giving participants practical exposure to technology-assisted behavioural assessment.
Beyond the demonstration, the team shared how these tools can help researchers design and run animal behavioural, neuroscience, pharmacology and preclinical studies more effectively.

Growing neuroscience research support
Managing Partner Nura Samsuddin also attended the main MSN 2026 meeting, meeting the wider neuroscience community and reconnecting with researchers Prima Nexus has supported over the years. She is working with Prima Nexus Lead Scientist Dr Lim Chong Teik to strengthen the company's neuroscience research support, from animal models and behavioural studies to biomarkers, molecular work, imaging and clinical research.
