8th Medical & Health Sciences Symposium (8th MHSS)

Prima Nexus sponsored the 8th Medical & Health Sciences Symposium at Management and Science University in Shah Alam on 24 May 2017, and its project coordinators were invited to give a sharing session.

About the symposium

The 8th Medical & Health Sciences Symposium (8th MHSS) was organised by the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences at Management and Science University (MSU), with the International Medical School and the School of Pharmacy. Its theme was Exploring Innovations in Health. The day ran from 8am to 6pm, with oral and poster presentations in community-based and applied science held in parallel at the Performing Arts Theatre and room M201.

The programme

The keynote speaker was Prof. Myrtati D. Artaria of Universitas Airlangga. The programme listed oral sessions on natural products and halal research in the morning, and on diagnostics and innovative research in the afternoon, with poster judging in the theatre foyer. The day closed with the judges' comments and the prize-giving ceremony.

Prima Nexus at the symposium

Prima Nexus sponsored the symposium with folders, pens and A5 notepads for participants. Prima Nexus project coordinators were invited to give a sharing session, the first industry sponsor talk of the day, in the Performing Arts Theatre. During the day, participants also posed with props at a Prima Nexus photo backdrop.

The talk explained why a student might take up a master's or PhD in the life sciences, and what support a postgraduate student needs, from workshops and equipment to supervisors and lab mates. It then showed how Prima Nexus could help, including services in multiplex assays, genomics, flow cytometry and animal research.
