8th Malaysian Symposium of Biomedical Sciences 2017

Biomedical science students from several Malaysian universities met at IIUM Kuantan in May 2017 to present their research. Prima Nexus sponsored the symposium.

A meeting run by students, for students

The Malaysian Symposium of Biomedical Sciences is a meeting organised by students, for students, in biomedical science. The eighth edition was hosted by the Department of Biomedical Science at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Kuantan campus in Bandar Indera Mahkota. Its programme set three aims: give undergraduates a place to share their research, encourage discussion on research and careers, and build interest in research and development among students in Malaysia.

Presentations, posters and a quiz

Students presented their work in oral sessions, grouped into four categories, and in a judged poster session. The programme also listed keynote speakers, a scientific talk, a forum, a biomedical science quiz and a closing ceremony with prizes. The event banner named the participating universities, among them Universiti Malaya, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, International Medical University, Management and Science University and Asia Metropolitan University.

How Prima Nexus supported it

Prima Nexus sponsored the symposium in kind, supplying folders, pens and notepads for participants. The Prima Nexus logo appeared on the event banner, and participants posed for photos in front of a Prima Nexus backdrop. Today Prima Nexus helps university researchers find the laboratory services, instruments and partner sites their projects need, through its research services.
