KUALA LUMPUR, 29 November 2022: On 20 October 2022, the Centre for Healthy Ageing and Wellness (H-CARE) of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), held its Senior Citizens Day 2022 and 10th Year Celebration at UKM's Kuala Lumpur campus, and Prima Nexus sponsored it. Between September and November, Prima Nexus also sponsored the International Microbiome & Diagnostic Forum (IMDF) 2022 of Monash University Malaysia, supported the Laboratory Animal Science Association of Malaysia (LASAM) and the 4th Malaysian Congress of Toxicology (MyCOT 2022), and was invited to give a career talk at Universiti Malaya's Faculty of Science.
Ten years of H-CARE
H-CARE is UKM's research centre for healthy ageing and wellness. It held the day with UKM's Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas (PAWE), the university's activity centre for senior citizens, and the day was officiated by UKM's Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Partnerships). The organisers thanked Prima Nexus for its sponsorship in a letter afterwards, with photos of the day.
A forum on the microbiome
The microbiome is the community of bacteria and other microbes that live in and on the body. IMDF 2022 was organised by the Microbiome and Bioresource Research Strength (MBRS) of Monash University Malaysia and held online on 29 and 30 September, with the theme The Innovative Paradigm in Human Health, Medicine and Diagnostic. It set out to connect clinicians, healthcare workers, biomedical researchers and postgraduate students, and the organisers planned for around 300 participants. Prima Nexus confirmed its sponsorship in June.
Laboratory animals, toxicology and careers
On 29 September, LASAM held its Scientific Seminar 2022 and 27th Annual General Meeting at the Concorde Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Toxicology is the study of how chemicals and other substances harm living things, and on 16 and 17 November the Malaysian Society of Toxicology held MyCOT 2022 at the Kuantan campus of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Universiti Malaya's Faculty of Science held its career fair, Karnival Kerjaya 2022, on 28 and 29 November, and its programme listed a career talk by Prima Nexus on the morning of 29 November.
