SEBERANG JAYA, 17 November 2016: Prima Nexus was a sponsor of the 6th Malaysian Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Scientific Meeting (6th MTERMS) and the 2nd Malaysian Stem Cell Meeting, held together on 17 and 18 November 2016 at The Light Hotel, Seberang Jaya, Penang. In the weeks before, Prima Nexus had also sponsored the 1st MSCRT Stem Cell Symposium 2016 in Kuala Lumpur on 11 October, and the 4th Primary Tissue Culture & Wound Healing Assay Workshop 2016 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) from 8 to 10 November.
Two national meetings in one, in Penang
The 6th MTERMS ran together with the 2nd Malaysian Stem Cell Meeting. It was organised by the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society of Malaysia (TESMA) and the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) of Universiti Sains Malaysia, and co-organised by the Malaysian Society for Stem Cell Research and Therapy, on the theme "Ensuring sustainability through innovative regenerative technologies". The call for abstracts listed reprogramming and pluripotency, stem cells and cancer, biomaterials and tissue regeneration, transplantation and immunomodulation, 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering, cell and gene therapy, and imaging and pre-clinical models, and it announced keynote and invited speakers from Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom. Talks ran in the main hall and in a smaller room, and in the poster sessions presenters stood by their boards to explain their results to visitors.
A symposium and a workshop in the weeks before
On 11 October 2016, Prima Nexus sponsored the 1st MSCRT Stem Cell Symposium 2016, titled Opportunities and Challenges in Stem Cell Research and Therapy, at Grand Seasons Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. From 8 to 10 November, it sponsored the 4th Primary Tissue Culture & Wound Healing Assay Workshop 2016, held by the Tissue Engineering Centre at UKM Medical Centre in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
