Prima Nexus Sponsors IPNaCS 2015 Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical and Cosmetic Science Conference in Melaka

From the Prima Nexus archive: a look back at November 2015.

MELAKA, 12 November 2015: Prima Nexus Sdn Bhd sponsored the 4th International Conference on Pharmaceuticals, Nutraceuticals and Cosmetic Science (IPNaCS 2015), hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), on 12 and 13 November 2015 at Ramada Plaza, Melaka. Through the faculty, Prima Nexus supplied the conference bags, pens, folders, notepads and the printed programme booklet given to delegates.

Quality by Design across three fields

IPNaCS 2015 was the fourth edition of the conference hosted by the UiTM Faculty of Pharmacy. The programme described its theme, Quality by Design, as a rational approach to pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetic development. In the programme booklet, the Dean of the faculty wrote that partner universities Josai University (Japan), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) and Universitas Indonesia were taking part, together with academics, students, hospital pharmacists and industry partners from countries including the United States, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Algeria and Malaysia.

Two days of lectures, symposiums and posters

Prof. Dr Kenji Sugibayashi of Josai University, Japan, gave the first plenary lecture, on a new era for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetic sciences. Other plenary lectures covered natural compounds from dipterocarp trees, drug regulation in Malaysia, pharmacogenomics, computer modelling in drug discovery and nano approaches for herbal medicine. Each afternoon, delegates chose one of three parallel symposiums. Invited lectures, oral presentations and posters ranged from probiotics and marine fungi to skin permeation, toxicity studies and pharmacy practice.

Prima Nexus as sponsor

Prima Nexus sponsored the conference through the UiTM Faculty of Pharmacy, supplying the conference bags, pens, folders, A5 notepads and A5 programme booklets for delegates. Delegates also stopped at a Prima Nexus photo wall to take pictures with props. The conference brought together researchers whose work, from toxicity studies in rats to cell-based tests of natural compounds, matches the kinds of studies Prima Nexus supports today.
