About the workshop
LAFAM runs the workshop to highlight the care and use of laboratory rodents in research and to train researchers in basic procedures. The lectures covered rodent husbandry, management, behaviour, medicine, surgery and post-mortem, and the practical sessions covered restraint, dosing by mouth with a feeding tube, blood collection, anaesthesia and euthanasia. The 17 participants came from UiTM's faculties of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry and Applied Sciences, from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and from Quest International University, and all received certificates with the results of their practical examination.
