PrimaNexus Workshop Series 2017: Flow Cytometry Hands-On Workshop
On 30 March 2017, Prima Nexus organised a hands-on flow cytometry workshop in the Toxicology Lab of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), in Kuala Lumpur.

The March session of the 2017 Workshop Series
The workshop was the March session of the Prima Nexus Workshop Series 2017. It took place in the Toxicology Lab at the Faculty of Pharmacy, UKM, and it was built around practice: participants worked through flow cytometry at the bench with the Prima Nexus team. Two members of the Prima Nexus life science team led it: Raymond Leong, Research Application Project Coordinator, and Kimmy Lai, Research Application Sales Executive.
A talk, bench work and the instrument
The session combined a talk with practical work. The talk, given in the laboratory with Prima Nexus slides on the screen, explained how a flow cytometer works and how its fluidic, optical and electronic parts combine to analyse single cells. Participants also worked at the bench themselves, handling pipettes, tubes and reagents. Later, the group gathered around the laboratory's flow cytometer for a demonstration of the instrument and its software.
