The meeting and its hosts

The Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), organised the meeting together with MSPP at Setia City Convention Centre, Shah Alam. Its theme was "Biomolecules in Science and Health". In the programme book, the organising chairperson called it MSPP's largest annual event for the science and practice of pharmacology and physiology.

Lectures, symposia and posters

Professor Nafeeza Mohd Ismail, President of MSPP, gave the keynote lecture on molecules as the basis for precision medicine. Three plenary lectures, four symposia and a panel discussion on research and postgraduate training followed over the two days. A special lecture by Professor Debra SM Sim of University of Malaya asked why animal studies at the bench fail at the bedside, and the posters were grouped in eight areas, from cardiovascular and renal function to herbal and natural products.

Prima Nexus's part

Prima Nexus supported the meeting and had Booth No. 4 at the exhibition in the convention centre foyer, open on both days. Many delegates used a Prima Nexus photo wall with science-themed props. For laboratory animal work today, see the animal studies page.
