The conference and its host
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) organised ICAMS 2015 under the theme 'Research for a better tomorrow'. The first day, 14 April, was a Laboratory Animal Surgeries Workshop in the Preclinical Building of the UKM Medical Centre, Cheras. The main conference followed at Hotel Concorde Kuala Lumpur.
Talks, posters and the workshop
Prof Dato' Dr Rahmah Mohamed, Vice Chancellor of INTI International University, gave the keynote lecture, and Prof Dr Howard Morris of the University of South Australia gave the plenary lecture on how vitamin D controls bone mineral balance. The abstracts booklet listed 35 oral presentations and 67 posters. At the workshop, James Hoffman of InVivos, Singapore, spoke on specific pathogen free (SPF) animals, and the afternoon was given to demonstrations of surgical techniques.
Prima Nexus's part
Prima Nexus supported the conference, and its name appeared on the conference flyer and the abstracts booklet cover. The workshop programme named Prima Nexus and the Pharmacology Department of the UKM Medical Centre as its organisers, and Surani Sukor of Prima Nexus was invited to speak there on innovation in multiplexing. For this work today, see the animal studies and ELISA and Luminex pages.
