About the seminar
The 28th Intervarsity Biochemistry Seminar (IBS 2017) was hosted by the Faculty of Applied Sciences at UCSI University, in the Le Quadri Ballroom in the North Wing of its Kuala Lumpur campus in Cheras. UCSI University organised it jointly with the Faculty of Applied Sciences Student Association (SASSA) and the Malaysian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB). The theme was "Achieve and Breakthrough: Unravelling the Biochemistry of Life", and the day ran from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.
The programme
Each participating university could send up to two oral presenters and five poster presenters. The programme listed welcoming speeches by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bimo Ario Tejo, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and Senior Professor Dato' Dr. Khalid Yusoff, Vice-Chancellor of UCSI University. Two oral presentation sessions followed, then a motivational talk by Dr. Abhimanyu and a poster viewing session. It closed with souvenirs for the judges, speakers and guests, prizes for the top oral and poster presenters, and a closing speech by a representative of MSBMB.
