Prima Nexus Discussion Series 2017: Flow Cytometry & PrimePlex Protein Expression
In March 2017 Prima Nexus organised a discussion session for researchers at the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM Sungai Buloh, on ELISA, multiplex protein measurement and flow cytometry.

A discussion session at the Faculty of Medicine
The session was part of the Prima Nexus Discussion Series 2017 and took place in the meeting room on Level 7 of the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM Sungai Buloh. A group of researchers from UiTM attended, seated around one U-shaped table with the speakers and the screen at the front of the room. The immunoassay talk ended with a question and answer session.
What the talks covered
Three Prima Nexus speakers led the session: Raymond Leong, Surani Sukor and Nor Alia. Surani Sukor's talk, "Immunoassay guide: from ELISA to multiplex platform", began with what an ELISA is: a common method for detecting and measuring one specific protein in a complex sample.
It then went through the three basic steps of an ELISA (capture, detection and signal measurement) and compared the four common formats: direct, indirect, sandwich and competitive. The session also covered PrimePlex multiplex immunoassay, which measures many proteins in one sample, and flow cytometry.
The part Prima Nexus played
Prima Nexus organised the session, and all three speakers came from its Life Science team. Participants received a certificate from Prima Nexus.
