A national competition for food science students
The Malaysian Institute of Food Technology (MIFT) organised the tenth edition of its National Food Science and Technology Competition on 17 and 18 March 2017. The School of Biosciences at Taylor's University hosted it at its Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya. The competition was for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the programme included a gala dinner on the evening of 17 March.
Food products and research posters
The competition had two parts. In the Innovative Food Product Development Competition, student teams from several universities set up booths to show a food product they had developed. The booths carried posters explaining the product, and several teams prepared samples at their tables.
In the Postgraduate Research Paper Competition, postgraduate students presented their research as posters. The posters stood on rows of boards in the university hall, and presenters explained their work to the visitors who stopped to read it.
