ELISA Demonstration Workshop (PrimaNexus Workshop Series 2016, December)
On 21 December 2016, Prima Nexus and Makmal Bioserasi UKM co-organised a one-day, hands-on ELISA workshop at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in Bangi.

A workshop at Makmal Bioserasi, UKM Bangi
The workshop was the December session of the Prima Nexus Workshop Series 2016. Makmal Bioserasi, a laboratory on the UKM Bangi campus, hosted it, and the day ran from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. The talks took place in a meeting room and the practical work at a laboratory bench. Participants came from UKM laboratories and faculties, both in Bangi and at UKM in Kuala Lumpur.
What the day covered
Prima Nexus trainers Surani Sukor and Nor Alia led the session, using a cortisol ELISA kit from Abcam. The programme set out a short introduction to ELISA, then the preparation of reagents, standards and samples, and the assay step by step at the bench: incubation, plate washing, adding the substrate and the stop solution, and reading the absorbance. A talk on multiplex immunoassays was scheduled during the first incubation, and the afternoon after lunch was set aside for data analysis and the close.
Prima Nexus's part in the workshop
Prima Nexus co-organised the workshop with Makmal Bioserasi UKM, provided the two trainers and issued the certificates of attendance. Participants followed a complete ELISA run, from preparing the samples to analysing the data.
