About the meeting

The 6th Malaysian Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Scientific Meeting (6th MTERMS) ran together with the 2nd Malaysian Stem Cell Meeting on 17 and 18 November 2016 at The Light Hotel, Seberang Jaya, Penang. It was organised by the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society of Malaysia (TESMA) and the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) of Universiti Sains Malaysia, and co-organised by the Malaysian Society for Stem Cell Research and Therapy. The theme was "Ensuring sustainability through innovative regenerative technologies".

Topics, talks and posters

The call for abstracts listed these topics: reprogramming and pluripotency, stem cells and cancer, biomaterials and tissue regeneration, transplantation and immunomodulation, 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering, cell and gene therapy, and imaging and pre-clinical models. It also announced keynote and invited speakers from Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Talks ran in the main hall and in a smaller room, and delegates asked questions from the floor. In the poster sessions, presenters stood by their boards and explained their results to visitors. Supplier companies showed their products at booths in an exhibition area.

How Prima Nexus supported the meeting

Prima Nexus sponsored the folders, pens and notepads for delegates, and the chairman of the meeting wrote to thank Prima Nexus for its support. Today, researchers who work with stem cells and tissue models can come to Prima Nexus for cell quality control, characterisation and cell-model development, listed under stem cell and organoid research on our research capabilities page.
