ELISA Demonstration Workshop, Prima Nexus Discussion Series 2016 (September)
On 26 September 2016, Prima Nexus organised a hands-on ELISA demonstration workshop at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Kuala Lumpur campus.

The September session of the 2016 series
The workshop was the September session of the Prima Nexus Discussion Series 2016. The talks were given in a meeting room, and the practical work took place at the bench in the Toxicology Lab (Makmal Toksikologi) on the UKM Kuala Lumpur campus. Twenty-two participants received a certificate of attendance. Places were offered on a first come, first served basis.
What the day covered
The programme followed the steps of a complete ELISA run. It opened with a short introduction to ELISA, then moved to the preparation of reagents, standards, samples and the plate. Plate washing came between the incubation steps. The day closed with plate reading and data analysis.
During the first incubation, the group heard a talk on multiplex immunoassays. Prima Nexus trainers demonstrated the steps at the bench. Participants watched from around the bench, and some tried the pipetting themselves, wearing gloves, with a trainer's guidance.
Prima Nexus's part in it
Prima Nexus organised the workshop, took the registrations and ran the day with trainers from its life science team. Researchers who need proteins measured in their samples can use the Prima Nexus ELISA and Luminex multiplex services.
