International Drug Development Workshop 2016 (Molecules to Medicine: From Bench to Bedside to Marketing)

About the workshop
The workshop was themed Molecules to Medicine: From Bench to Bedside to Marketing. It took place in the Le Quadri Ballroom at the North Wing of UCSI University's Kuala Lumpur campus. It was aimed at industrial pharmacists and at pharmaceutical researchers from research institutes. The organiser set three aims: to learn about the issues and challenges of drug development from industry leaders, to discuss case studies with peers, and to build global collaboration among experts in the pharmaceutical field.
Invited speakers
The organiser's sponsorship invitation, sent before the workshop, listed three invited speakers and their topics. Professor Dr N. Sreeharan, a visiting professor at King's College London, was listed to speak on the issues and challenges in the search for new medicines. Professor Moses Chow of Western University of Health Sciences in the United States was listed to speak on the potential of herbal medicine for personalised cancer chemotherapy. Dr Sam Lim of the AstraZeneca Global Medicine Development Centre in China was listed to speak on the life cycle management of drugs.
Prima Nexus's part
Prima Nexus sponsored the workshop and provided sets of delegate materials, each with a Prima Nexus folder, a pen and an A5 notepad. The folders were set out on the tables for participants, and the Prima Nexus logo appeared with the other sponsors on the event slides.
