2nd Pharmacy Students' Scientific Conference: Pharmacy Research Towards Innovation

A conference for graduating pharmacy students

The Faculty of Pharmacy, MAHSA University, organised the conference on 27 and 28 July 2016 in the MAHSA Symposium Auditorium, on Level 9 of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Bandar Saujana Putra campus. Its theme was Pharmacy Research Towards Innovation. The faculty set three aims: to share the students' research reports with faculty members, to give an insight into pharmacy research in its various fields and global trends, and to gain new knowledge in scientific fields relevant to pharmacy. It also wanted the students to gain experience in presenting their findings to the pharmacy research community. It was open to students and staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy and other staff of MAHSA University, and other universities were invited to take part.

What the programme covered

The programme set out a pre-conference workshop to prepare the graduates for their careers, with talks on the role of the pharmacist in hospital, retail pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry, and on job interviews. The conference day opened with welcome speeches and an invited lecture. Students then presented their work in two oral sessions and a poster session, across pharmacy practice, clinical settings and laboratory research. The day closed with a white coat ceremony and an awards presentation.
