ELISA Demonstration Workshop (Prima Nexus Workshop Series 2016)
On 25 May 2016, Prima Nexus and the Cell and Molecular Biology Laboratory (CMBL) at Universiti Malaya co-organised a one-day ELISA demonstration workshop for researchers and students.

A day of ELISA training at Universiti Malaya
The workshop was part of the Prima Nexus Workshop Series 2016. It ran for a full day, from 8.30 am to 5 pm, at the Medical Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. About 22 researchers and postgraduate students took part, from Universiti Malaya and University Malaya Medical Centre. They came from several departments, including pharmacology, medical microbiology, paediatrics and biomedical engineering.
What the day covered
The day combined a talk in a seminar room, with slides on pre-coated ELISA, and a hands-on demonstration at the laboratory bench. Wearing gloves, participants handled the tubes and reagents themselves and followed the steps with printed notes in hand. The day also covered how to analyse ELISA data.
Prima Nexus's part
Prima Nexus co-organised the workshop with CMBL, which is part of the Faculty of Medicine. Two members of the Prima Nexus life science team, Surani Sukor and Kimmy Lai, ran the workshop, and participants received a certificate of attendance. Today, researchers can use Prima Nexus ELISA and Luminex services to run these assays on samples from their own studies.
