ELISA Demonstration Workshop (Prima Nexus Workshop Series 2016)
Prima Nexus organised a one-day ELISA demonstration workshop at INFORMM, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang, on 16 March 2016. Participants followed a full ELISA run, from preparation to data analysis.

About the workshop
The workshop was the March session of the Prima Nexus Workshop Series 2016. The talks were held in a seminar room at the Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM) and the bench demonstration in a laboratory there. Registration was free, on a first come, first served basis, with places limited to 20, and 21 people took part.
A full ELISA run in one day
The programme followed an ELISA run through every step in a single day. A short introduction explained ELISA as a method for detecting and measuring a specific protein in a sample. Participants then gathered at the lab bench for reagent and standard preparation, followed by sample and plate preparation. During the first incubation there was a talk and a basic demonstration on multiplex immunoassay.
In the afternoon the plate was washed, incubated with the detection antibody, washed again and incubated with HRP-streptavidin (HRP-SA). After a final wash and incubation, the plate was prepared for reading. The day closed with plate reading and data analysis.
Prima Nexus's part
Prima Nexus organised the workshop and ran the talks and the bench demonstration. The sessions were led by Surani Sukor and Amielia Ab Hamid of the Prima Nexus life science team.
