The workshop and its hosts
UiTM's Laboratory Animal Care Unit (LACU) and its Institute of Medical Molecular Biotechnology (IMMB) jointly organised the workshop at the IMMB, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM Sungai Buloh. On the first morning, participants and organisers gathered for a group photo outside the building, between the workshop banners.
What the three days covered
The programme covered animal ethics, biosafety and the handling of mice and rats, with anaesthesia, injection and bleeding techniques, and it ended with practical examinations. The speakers included Low Kiat Cheong of the Laboratory Animal Resource Unit, Faculty of Medicine, UKM, and Zainal Abidin Abu Hasan of UiTM's Laboratory Animal Care Unit.
