38th MSPP Annual Scientific Meeting 2025

The meeting
The Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology (MSPP) held its 38th Annual Scientific Meeting from 19 to 22 August 2025 at IMU University in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting brought together researchers and students in pharmacology, physiology and other medical sciences. Its theme was "Shaping Discoveries of Today and the Therapeutics of Tomorrow for Societal Impact".
Keynote, plenary and posters
Academician Prof Emerita Datuk Dr Asma binti Ismail, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of IMU University, gave the keynote lecture. Prof Dr Igor Iezhitsa of IMU University gave a plenary lecture. The programme also included workshops, symposia and poster sessions. Posters on show included work from researchers at IMU University, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and University Malaya Medical Centre. Topics included heart muscle cells, blood pressure in a diabetes cohort, fat tissue around the heart in type 2 diabetes, and blood vessel function in a rat model.
Prima Nexus's part
Prima Nexus sponsored the meeting and supplied the delegates' lanyards, conference bags and notepads, together with Prima Nexus flyers. The bags carried the Prima Nexus name beside the MSPP and IMU University logos. Prima Nexus also met researchers presenting work in pharmacology and physiology, and held a lucky draw for delegates. Today, researchers in these fields can use Prima Nexus ELISA and Luminex testing to measure proteins in their study samples.
