A colloquium for postgraduate researchers
The Postgraduate Colloquium on Medical Sciences (PCOMS) 2015 was organised by the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Medical Molecular Biotechnology (IMMB) of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). It ran on 25 and 26 May 2015 in the Main Auditorium at UiTM Sungai Buloh. The programme was planned for postgraduate students in the medical sciences, with keynote and plenary talks, oral and poster presentations, and a session on careers.
Talks, awards and careers
The talks covered both science and research skills. Dr Jonathan Yuin-Han Loh of the National University of Singapore spoke on reprogramming stem cells, and Dr Kazuhide Shaun Okuda of the Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF) on zebrafish in cancer research. Prof Harbindar Jeet Singh of UiTM spoke on writing as a young scientist, Prof Ishwar Parhar of Monash University on becoming a good scientist, and Assoc Prof Norzaidi Haji Mohd Daud of UiTM on data analysis.
Shawn Teck Kee Eng of Eppendorf and BioMedKL gave a talk titled Connect, Collaborate, Contribute: BioMedKL's Dream, and Dr Khairul Idzwan Bahrin of Cell Tissue Technology spoke on the company's vision and mission. The programme also included the Young Scientists Award for oral presentations, a best poster award, a career talk and a walk-in interview session.

Prima Nexus was a sponsor of PCOMS 2015. It provided the conference bags and sponsored the printing for the event. The event banner listed Prima Nexus as merchandise sponsor. Postgraduate students and research teams like those at PCOMS are the researchers Prima Nexus supports today through its research services.
